Yay us!

Creek Clean up!
The creek clean up was an amazing success, thank you all so much for coming out and lending a hand. Much gratitude to The Field and Stream Rescue Team – the afternoon would not have gone as smoothly without you there.
I love seeing a park full of kids’ not just kids on the play equipment but kids everywhere claiming the park as their place to play. My heart was a glow seeing kids in the trees and a whole gaggle of seven year old girls stomping in the creek. Awesome.
I look forward to the next event – I wonder what we will dream up next?

Loving our new park and the MUD!

Every Day is a play day - The walk to school
I wanted to share our walk to school because it is so not just a walk to school - it is play and it happens every single day. So here it is we walk, we talk, we meet up with friends, we explore and we take part in our community.

This is my daughter talking spot

and this is Texas (imagine he is holding the reins of a big black stallion)
I hope you all have great walks to school next week.
Every Day is a play day!
Our Saturdays at the park as of late have been lonely so I'm feeling refreshed at seeing the 'Every day is a play day' week. I love it - we are in!
On Monday we played in the leaves throwing them up as high as we could and piling them high so we could jump in them.
Today, Tuesday we practiced our Spider man jumps, balanced on stumps trying desperately to stay out of the fiery swamp and skipped while we did our errands. Skipping is our six year olds new passion.
I look forward to what fun tomorrow will bring.

Halloween in the park II

Playgroup Tomorrow - Photographer coming!
Hi all,
Tomorrow a photographer from the Globe and Mail will be coming to take some pictures – your consent is required. The images will accompany an article, written by Tralee Pearce addresses the “art of play,” and increasing interest in carving out time for kids’ freeplay. The piece will be in Fridays paper in the Life section.
See you all tomorrow it's looking like a beautiful day to get outside.
