Come to Hidden Valley!
Hello,
I hope you and your family can join us this month for a hike and a nature craft.
We will be meeting on Sunday November 28, 2010 at Hidden Valley Park in Burlington, Ontario. We will be exploring the trails within the park and the Hendrie Valley Trails. We will meet by the playground at 10: 30 a.m and will begin our hike at 10:45a.m.
Hidden Valley Park is located at Lemonville Road & Hidden Valley Road. From Plains Road turn North on Howard Road and follow it to the heart of Hidden Valley Park. When you drive into the valley the road forks, stay to the left. As you drive you will see on the left a driveway that will lead you to the parking lot by the playground.
Please remember to dress for the weather and a picnic lunch if you would like.
I look forward to seeing you all,
Kristen
We encourage freeplay. We welcome all families with young children. We play in all kinds of weather.
Thanks for coming
I want to thank everyone so much for joining us for our Halloween party the costumes were great and there were so many happy faces. I was having so much fun I forgot to take pictures – oops! I have my fingers crossed that some pictures will appear in the Burlington Post; the photographer looked like he was getting some great shots.
A big shout out to all that helped the party come together namely Fran, Ivy, Alicia and my Mom. Thank you.
Our next outdoor adventure will be the end of November I’m thinking a hike and a nature craft. Sound good?
Kindest Regards,
Kristen

Wow, the beach was great! Sandcastles were built, trees were climbed and fun was had.

Let's Play!
Hello,
Our summer has been fantastic. We’ve spent many days at the beach, picked raspberries, explored Halton Region and to the kids’great delight have spent many afternoons cloud gazing and splashing in Gran’s backyard. I hope your summer has been just as adventurous.
With Fall around the corner, it is time for the Halton Outdoor Playgroup to begin once again!
We will meet on Sunday September 12th at 10:30 a.m. to explore Burlington’s beach on the shore of Lake Ontario. We are going to meet on the beach 2 –3 hydro towers down from the Beachway Park Pavilion (towards Spencer Smith Park). I will have a sign out so you can find us.
Our morning together will include whatever beach fun our kids can come up with probably some sandcastle building, tree climbing, rock art and exploring.
Please bring some sand toys for sharing and a picnic lunch if you and your family would like. There are washrooms on the beach and plenty of parking on Lakeshore Road.We encourage freeplay. We welcome all families with young children. We play in all kinds of weather.
I look forward to see you and hearing about your summer fun.
Kindest Regards,
Kristen
May 30th - Crawford Lake, Come!
Hello,
This Sunday Halton Family Outdoor Playgroup will be exploring Crawford Lake, my family and I are looking forward to the adventure and to all of you joining us.
We are going to meet by the picnic tables beside the Visitors Centre at 10:30 a.m. We will begin our hike at 11:00. If anyone is late you can join us as we hike along the Woodland Trail, it is marked with red. We will have our picnic lunch at the picnic tables after our hike.
The trail is hard-packed and wheelchair accessible so strollers should be no problem.
If your kids are interested and still have the energy there is an Iroquoian village to explore and a presentation with storytelling at 1p.m. in the longhouse.
Do remember your picnic lunch for you and your family. When you arrive please come and say hello to me as some of you I know and some of you I have yet to meet.
If you need any more information about Crawford Lake the link is below or if you have any question please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Crawford Lake
Crawford Lake was beautiful! I was surprised how deep in the forest I felt as we hiked. Our spying scopes came in very handy we spied caterpillars, a huge spider web and even a woodpecker.
Thank you all so much for coming, my family and I hope to see you on the next adventurer – I’m thinking strawberry picking. I’ll keep you all posted.
Enjoy the pictures,
Kristen
