Any ideas?

Anyone have ideas for new activities or parks we can try? If so, please throw them out there! I'm always open to new things, and I'd love for us to explore more of our city :)

So far we're planning on the normal Salt Creek playdates on Tuesday and Thursday next week, and tentatively also Mountain Hawk Park on Wednesday (that's the one on Wueste Road - it seriously took me this long to figure out what it's called). It's warming up again, so hopefully that will be a good day for the splash pad again.

We didn't get as much play time as we intended this week - Tuesday everyone had things to get done it seemed, so just a couple of us hung around for a while. The kids had a good time with their treasure hunt, but unfortunately we had to have a discussion about what's trash and what's treasure at the park. It's sad that there is so much trash left behind on the playground and lawns. I would love to stage some kind of park clean-up effort, but I think most of the kids are still a little too young for that? Let me know what you guys think. I do want to teach my kids about cleaning up, but I think my oldest is still a bit young to be cleaning up some of the yuck left behind. Maybe we could make it an adult weekend activity?

See you next week!!

It's August ?!

How on earth can it be August already?! Summer is by no means over, but it does seem weird that school has already started, doesn't it? We missed our new kindergarteners last week :( We'll need to plan an afternoon playdate soon so they can come too!

I had so much fun last week! The splashpad was great Wednesday, and the kids had a blast both Tuesday and Thursday at Salt Creek. The kids are really into the swings and playground equipment right now, which is funny considering they had no interest in that a month ago and only wanted to run on the hill... Kids are funny, aren't they?

Like we discussed last week, since it's been cooler lately, we're going to skip the splash pad this week and just meet on Tuesday and Thursday as usual after preschool, at the upper playground by Salt Creek Rec Center. The kids seem perfectly able to come up with things to do on their own, so chances are we don't need any kind of organized activity, but if they get bored before we grown-ups are ready to go home, I have a few party tricks (ok, bug and plant hunting games) up my sleeve :)

See you tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder

Just a quick reminder that

 1) everyone is welcome to meet after preschool today at Salt Creek Rec Center, even if your kids don't go to school there - the kids get out at 11:50 and we're just on the playground next to the main building. I imagine we'll be there for at least an hour, maybe longer depending on how hot it is and how fractious the kids get.

 2) we're meeting tomorrow at the big park at the end of Wueste Road around 10am. I will be there at least from 10 until 12, so feel free to come and go as needed, no real set times. I haven't been there for a while, but I'm assuming the splash pad is turned on by now (since it's almost August!) and am bringing swimsuits etc. I'll have extra sunscreen.

Let me know if anyone has questions, otherwise see you later today/tomorrow!
