Find Monarch butterflies

Every year something magical happens in Toronto. Each year, thousands of beautiful Monarch butterflies congregate at the shoreline before embarking on a 3,500-kilometre fall migration to Mexico.

Today we decided to follow Monarch butterflies on our bike ride by the shoreline.

Pinecone art and make an Advent wreath

Last Monday we had fun collecting pinecones on our hike and decorating them and making an advent wreath.  Advent wreaths are a tradition very common in Europe. In my home country of Norway, we would light a candle and cite a poem by Inger Hagerup. 1. Candle for joy, 2 for hope and joy, 3 for longing, hope and joy.  4 candles lighted for longing, hope, joy and peace – but first and foremost for Peace on earth

November guide

Some days, when I find myself looking out the window seeing fall's dark, rainy and cold weather, I have to muster the motivation to pull out the necessary warm layers for the darkening season. Though it sometimes isn’t very appealing, we still try to get out every day. Even if it is just walking to school, playing at the playground, playing in the leaves or some old fashioned puddle jumping. Add a comment
