Make a Hot Chocolate Kit
Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? Whenever my family is out enjoying winter activities we makes sure to have a full thermos with us. This year I am giving my hot chocolate recipe, in kit form, for gifts this year to friends, teachers and outdoor lovers.
It takes an extra step, but I prefer to make hot chocolate from melted semi sweet chocolate chips rather than coco powder. I think it just tastes better than powder.

I was lucky to be asked to review the book “Curious Critters” by David FitzSimmons. When I opened the package, I immediately fell in love with the cover art. Mr. FitzSimmons has done a wonderful job capturing images of some of the coolest little critters that we share the planet with. But, there is more to this book than beautiful pictures.

I do not know about you, but here in Canada it is definitely started to be hot chocolate season. I’m glad I have put in the bulbs and raked leaves over my flower beds, because Mister Frost has been visited us in the nights this last week.

Happy Santa Lucia day, December 13th.
Today is Santa Lucia day, a day we observe in our family as it is a fun Scandinavian celebration, especially for children. My daughter loves it so much that today she will share it with her school. We are going to have a traditional Lucia parade (well, with only three people) and hand out saffron buns to her class..
