Make a squash soup

I’m sure a lot of you have already been out picking pumpkins for Halloween. Pumpkins have a lot of cousins that are great to eat and not just for decoration. Each fall I try different recipes to try with things that are connected to the season and how to cook them. My favorite is acorn and spaghetti squash. You can use Spaghetti squash as a substitute for noodles. One thing is for sure, many of the winter squashes taste so good in soups.

Hot chocolate season

I do not know about you, but here in Canada it is definitely started to be hot chocolate season. I’m glad I have put in the bulbs and raked leaves over my flower beds, because Mister Frost has been visited us in the nights this last week.

Beach in November?

That's right.  It was so warm out today I wore flip flops.  Okay, so I also don't like to search for matching socks, but it was definitely warm enough for my flip flops!  We went to the beach down the street to do some digging and building.  The kids made animal sculptures in the sand, chased down seagulls and we found a couple of lobster tails.

Here's to today not being the last day I bury my feet in the sand this year!

Hello from Florida

One week in Florida, as some of you might know I often think of Florida as my second home. My husband is from Florida which is where we first met. So at least once a year we come down here to visit is family.

It is not a hard trip to take for someone who lives in Canada. Florida has a lot to offer for nature and sun hungry Northerners. My Husband's family lives in Crystal River on the west coast of Florida.
