Mud pie kitchen

mudkitchen1Believe it or not we do have trends in the #playoutdoors movement, and mud and mud pie kitchens are very popular amongst other bloggers. For some time I have been secretly admiring and thinking about creating our own outdoor play kitchen. My kids love to make dirt soups and mud pies all year round.

Letterboxing

I'm not quite sure how it all started, but I think I was reading an article in one of those airline magazines on my way to somewhere when I discovered letterboxing.  There were several elements that intrigued me: nature, treasure hunting, and stamp making.  I prefer good old clues than trying to find something with a GPS and I like the notion that all you leave behind and take with you are prints of stamps, either hand made or store bought.  I'm going to give you some simple info about letterboxing, which is a fun to do with the whole family!

Go fishing in your own backyard

fishingfrontThis week we went to the Toronto Zoo and one of the highlights for our visit was touching the stingrays in the pool. At the Toronto Zoo they have stingrays in a pool and the guests are allowed to touch and feed the stingrays. I also recently told you how Norwegian kids like to catch sand crabs in the summer.

Are you by the sea this summer? Catch some sand crabs

crabfishingfrontWe love to be by the sea; with the smell of the salt water and to swim. It might surprise you, but thanks to the Gulf Stream, the ocean can get quite warm in Norway. If you go to the coast during the summer in Norway, you will notice that kids do not just love to swim and make sand castles there. You will see kids on docks, rocky outcrops and the beach catching sand crabs and proudly creating aquariums for their catch.

Fairy house in a container

fairyhousecontainerfrontWe love and believe in fairies like the children here at Activekidsclub.com. My little girls never get tired of making fairy house. They will make them everywhere; at the park, the beach, the backyard and in the forest. In our house we have two containers by the entrance.
